Cal-Com Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in 1968 as the credit union for Alcoa employees working at the Point Comfort, TX site and their families. In a very short time, the credit union had expanded to include Point Comfort Northern Railway and Witco employees and merged the credit union of Champ Traylor Memorial Hospital. In 1976, the field of membership was expanded to include persons who live or work in Calhoun County and their families. In 1984, the credit union responded to a request to serve the employees of DeTar Hospital in Victoria, TX. Shortly thereafter, the credit union added Victoria Regional Medical Center, Citizens Medical Center and numerous businesses related to the medical profession. The credit union now serves several plants in the Calhoun and Victoria county area including but not limited to Alcoa, Formosa, Dupont, B.P. Chemicals and Seadrift Coke L.P.
In 1993, Cal-Com Federal Credit Union further expanded its field of membership to include persons who live or work in Victoria County as well as those who live or work in Calhoun County and their families.
Cal-Com Federal Credit Union is now able to serve persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entites located in Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson, Lavaca, Refugio, and Victoria counties.
Cal-Com FCU presently has full service offices at 1401 N. Virginia in Port Lavaca, TX., 3802 N. Navarro, Victoria, TX. and 2807 N. John Stockbauer, Victoria, TX. Cal-Com FCU is a community credit union in a seven county area and offers a full range of services from checking to MasterCard and ATMs and most types of loans.
